Most of our cinema-going experience has probably been conditioned by mainstream American-style film-making, although Art House cinemas like Cinema City are now making different cinematic traditions more accessible.  In this group we will watch movies from very different countries. A theme will be taken and we will then see how different traditions of film-making deal with it.  Our first theme will be the world of children, and we will watch movies by directors from Iran, Brazil, Turkey, Italy and Spain. An informal discussion of each movie will follow.

The sessions will begin in the evening so that people may legally park without the need for a pass. In addition, Grosvenor Road (just off Unthank Road near the Roman Catholic Cathedral) is on the 25 bus route into town.
