STILL SWIMMING (AND CHATTING) TEN YEARS ON!

Twenty members of the Swim & Chat Group recently celebrated its 10th Anniversary of sociable swimming at the University of East Anglia’s Sportspark. A free swim and refreshments were provided courtesy of the Sportspark and Sportscafe. To round off the celebrations, the group enjoyed a meal with guests. Founding members of the group, Mike and Joan Forrest, said "We decided the Sportspark would be the ideal venue with its combination of an excellent pool, cafe, free car parking and frequent bus connections." Mary Walker, one of the group’s longest serving members, said that she really enjoys the company, both in the pool and socialising afterwards and added "It's a very friendly group with a chance to exercise too." She did admit that sometimes more chatting took place in the pool but refused to name any guilty parties! Sportspark Acting Director Maria Rowe congratulated the group on its longevity and success, and hoped that the Sportspark would continue to be its host for many years to come.
